Volatilization
The Henry's Law constant for benzaldehyde is 2.67X10-5 atm-cu m/mole(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that benzaldehyde is expected to volatilize from water surfaces(2). Based on this Henry's Law constant, the volatilization half-life from a model river (1 m deep, flowing 1 m/sec, wind velocity of 3 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 1.5 days (SRC). The volatilization half-life from a model lake (1 m deep, flowing 0.05 m/sec, wind velocity of 0.5 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 14 days(SRC). Benzaldehyde's Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces may occur(SRC). Benzaldehyde is expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon a vapor pressure of 1.27 mm Hg at 25 deg C(3).

Soil Adsorption
Using a structure estimation method based on molecular connectivity indices(1), the Koc of benzaldehyde can be estimated to be 11(SRC). According to a classification scheme(2), this estimated Koc value suggests that benzaldehyde is expected to have very high mobility in soil.

Volatilization
The Henry's Law constant for 1-octanol is reported as 2.5X10-5 atm-cu m/mole(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that 1-octanol is expected to volatilize from water surfaces(2). Based on this Henry's Law constant, the volatilization half-life from a model river (1 m deep, flowing 1 m/sec, wind velocity of 3 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 43 hours(SRC). The volatilization half-life from a model lake (1 m deep, flowing 0.05 m/sec, wind velocity of 0.5 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 17 days(SRC). 1-Octanol's Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces may occur(SRC). 1-Octanol is not expected to volatilize from dry soil surfaces(SRC) based upon a vapor pressure of 0.0794 mm Hg(3).

Soil Adsorption
The Koc of 1-octanol is reported as 38(1). According to a classification scheme(2), this Koc value suggests that 1-octanol is expected to have very high mobility in soil(SRC).

Volatilization
The Henry's Law constant for octylaldehyde is 5.14X10-4 atm-cu m/mole(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that octylaldehyde is expected to volatilize from water surfaces(2). Based on this Henry's Law constant, the volatilization half-life from a model river (1 m deep, flowing 1 m/sec, wind velocity of 3 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 5 hrs(SRC). The volatilization half-life from a model lake (1 m deep, flowing 0.05 m/sec, wind velocity of 0.5 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 5 days(SRC). Octylaldehyde's Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces may occur(SRC). The potential for volatilization of octylaldehyde from dry soil surfaces may exist based upon a vapor pressure of 1.18 mm Hg(3).

Soil Adsorption
The Koc of octylaldehyde is estimated as 130(SRC), using a water solubility of 560 mg/L(1) and a regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this estimated Koc value suggests that octylaldehyde is expected to have high mobility in soil.

Volatilization
The Henry's Law constant for 3-octanone is estimated as 1.3X10-4 atm-cu m/mole(SRC) derived from its vapor pressure, 2.0 mm Hg(1), and water solubility, 2600 mg/L(1). This Henry's Law constant indicates that 3-octanone is expected to volatilize from water surfaces(2). Based on this Henry's Law constant, the volatilization half-life from a model river (1 m deep, flowing 1 m/sec, wind velocity of 3 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 11 hours(SRC). The volatilization half-life from a model lake (1 m deep, flowing 0.05 m/sec, wind velocity of 0.5 m/sec)(2) is estimated as 6.8 days(SRC). 3-Octanone's estimated Henry's Law constant indicates that volatilization from moist soil surfaces may occur(SRC). The potential for volatilization of 3-octanone from dry soil surfaces may exist based upon its vapor pressure(1).

Soil Adsorption
The Koc of 3-octanone is estimated as 58(SRC), using a water solubility of 2600 mg/L(1) and a regression-derived equation(2). According to a classification scheme(3), this estimated Koc value suggests that 3-octanone is expected to have high mobility in soil.
